Employment Type: Full-Time (Monday–Friday, Day Shift with Flexibility)

Job Summary:

As the Maintenance Manager, you will be a hands on manager ensuring peak operational performance across our Halton Hills, Milton, and Etobicoke facilities. With boots on the ground, you will lead a team, coordinate activities across multiple production departments, manage vendors, and implement proactive maintenance strategies for refrigeration systems (CO2), MHE, and facility infrastructure, all while enforcing strict food safety and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment & Facility Management:

  • Create, oversee and administer preventive maintenance (PM) programs for refrigeration, MHE, facilities and production equipment
  • Optimize CO2 refrigeration systems (troubleshooting, retrofits, energy efficiency)
  • Manage MHE fleet (forklifts, pallet jacks) repairs and capital purchase recommendations
  • Assess and recommend facility and production equipment improvements/repairs as required

Vendor & Budget Oversight:

  • Source and negotiate contracts with third-party vendors (HVAC-R, repairs, etc)
  • Control maintenance budgets and inventory (parts tracking, cost-saving initiatives)
  • Manage third party vendor compliance performance such as cleaners, trades and landscaping

Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, and mentor maintenance technicians (5+ direct reports)
  • Develop full building and shift coverage planning with direct reports
  • Develop SOPs for equipment use, safety protocols, and cross-site collaboration
  • Ability and willingness to step in wherever required with the team – lead by example

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure adherence to TSSA (refrigeration), and food safety regulations (HACCP, CFIA)
  • Conduct root cause analyses for equipment failures and safety incidents

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 5+ years in multi-site maintenance management (refrigerated warehouses or production facilities preferred)
  • Class "B" Refrigeration Operator or above is an asset
  • Certified Millwright and/or Industrial Electrician is an asset
  • Working knowledge of CO2/NH3 refrigeration systems (certification a plus)
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting (PLC basics, HVAC-R, MHE)
  • Proven ability to build high performing teams in 24/7 environments.
  • Advanced Excel (budgets, KPIs)
  • Valid license and willingness to travel between GTA sites as required.

Working Conditions:

  • Refrigerated environments (ability to work in cold temperatures).
  • On call flexibility for urgent equipment or safety issues.
