Position Summary
The Sales Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and supporting a team of sales representatives to achieve revenue targets and build a strong, predictable pipeline. This role requires a highly structured, process-driven leader who can provide day-to-day coaching, ensure disciplined execution, and deliver clear visibility into sales activities, pipeline health, and results to the Director of Sales and VP, Commercial.
The Sales Manager will play a key role in developing the team's sales capabilities, optimizing sales processes, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. This position is fully in-office to support active collaboration, real-time coaching, and team performance management.
Compensation package
(base salary $90K-$125K based on experience + performance incentives, benefits and other perks).
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Coaching
- Lead, coach, and develop sales representatives to strengthen sales skills, improve productivity, and achieve individual and team targets.
- Conduct regular one-on-one sessions focusing on activity levels, pipeline quality, conversion metrics, and skill development.
- Provide clear expectations, consistent feedback, and performance follow-up.
Sales Operations & Structure
- Implement and enforce structured sales processes, including prospecting cadence, forecasting cycles, and reporting standards.
- Ensure full visibility into pipeline stages, deal progression, and sales performance by maintaining accurate sales data and dashboards.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports for the Director of Sales and VP with insights, risks, and action plans.
Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Support the team in developing new business opportunities and expanding existing accounts.
- Collaborate on sales strategies, territory planning, and target-setting to ensure alignment with overall business goals.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer insights to capitalize on growth opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Customer Service, Key Accounts, Operations and Marketing to ensure a consistent customer experience and coordinated messaging.
- Provide feedback to leadership on sales challenges, customer needs, and potential process or product improvements.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers; join strategic meetings and support the team in closing high-value opportunities.
- Ensure excellence in customer follow-up, communication, and long-term relationship development.
Performance & Financial Insight
- Monitor sales metrics and financial indicators to support profitability, margin management, and cost-effective growth.
- Identify areas where the organization can increase profitability or reduce inefficiencies and make recommendations to leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or a related field,
an asset - 3-5 years experience in sales management or team leadership with a history of achieving or exceeding revenue targets.
- Experience in logistics (freight forwarding, air/ocean, import/export)
- Highly structured, organized, and disciplined approach to execution, planning, and reporting.
- Strong coaching and performance management skills; able to motivate and elevate a sales team.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical abilities with a data-driven mindset for forecasting, reporting, and decision-making.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and sales enablement tools; able to drive consistent usage across the team.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities.
