Overview

Shuswap Hearing Clinic is seeking a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented Part-Time Office Assistant to support our clinics in Salmon Arm and Sicamous. This role is ideal for someone looking for one consistent day per week on Fridays, with the flexibility to cover additional days during staff vacations or absences.

You will play an important role in supporting both our patients and clinical team in a welcoming, community-focused healthcare environment.

Schedule & Location

  • Part-time: Fridays
  • Additional hours: Vacation and absence coverage as needed
  • Locations: Salmon Arm and Sicamous (ability to work at both locations required)
  • Potential for the role to expand into more days per week

General Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and manage the front desk in a warm and professional manner
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and respond to general inquiries
  • Perform clerical duties including filing, data entry, and document preparation
  • Support clinic systems and day-to-day administrative processes
  • Provide minor troubleshooting support for hearing devices (e.g. cleaning, battery changes, basic connectivity issues), with training provided
  • Support occasional community outreach or clinic initiatives
  • Help maintain an organized, positive, and patient-focused clinic environment

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in an office, reception, or administrative role
  • Experienced providing exceptional customer service
  • Comfortable answering phones and working directly with patients
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence navigating computer systems and office software
  • Ability to work independently in a small clinic setting
  • Experience in a healthcare or clinic environment is an asset
  • Experience with hearing aids or audiology is an asset but not required

  • Is reliable and able to commit to Fridays on an ongoing basis
  • Is comfortable learning new skills and following procedures
  • Is flexible and willing to help cover vacation periods when needed

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
