Kaye Healey Homes is one of the departments at Elizabeth Fry that provides safe, stable, and supportive housing for individuals transitioning toward independent living. Our housing programs combine property management with trauma-informed care, ensuring dignity, safety, and opportunity for every resident.

Position Description

The Housing Operations Coordinator serves as the central hub between housing services, property management, and resident support. This role ensures that the daily operations of Kaye Healey Homes run smoothly while supporting residents' transitions to safe and sustainable housing. You'll coordinate maintenance and tenancy logistics, manage administrative processes, and foster collaborative communication across teams and service providers.

Key Responsibilities

Property & Operations Management:

  • Coordinate day-to-day operations of residential units, including move-ins, move-outs, inspections, and maintenance scheduling.
  • Ensure all housing units meet health, safety, and habitability standards.
  • Liaise with contractors, property owners, and vendors for repairs, renovations, and ongoing maintenance.

Resident & Housing Support:

  • Work closely with housing support worker and case managers to align property logistics with resident needs.
  • Work with housing support worker to support resident onboarding processes including intake documentation, orientation, and tenancy education.
  • Work with housing support worker and administrative staff to respond to tenancy issues, conflict resolution, and urgent housing needs with empathy and professionalism.

Administrative & Reporting:

  • Maintain internal databases, tenant files, and compliance documents.
  • Generate operational and occupancy reports for funders, internal leadership, or government agencies.
  • Contribute to the development of operational policies and procedures.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Serve as the communication bridge between the Elizabeth Fry Society, Kaye Healey Homes, and external housing providers.
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings and strategic planning initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in property management, social housing, or residential operations (non-profit or community housing experience an asset).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work compassionately with marginalized populations.
  • Familiarity with tenancy law, housing regulations, and rental agreements.
  • Proficiency with office software and housing management systems
  • Ability to pass a vulnerable sector check.
  • 2-year diploma in social services, human services, or related field

Hours: 20-25 hours per week
