We are looking for an experienced Building Maintenance lead hand to perform upkeep tasks such as repairs, maintenance and overall property and building tidiness. You will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment, building systems, and ensure facilities are tidy/functional.

Being reliable with a keen eye for detail is the first step to getting this job. The ideal candidate will have experience and solid technical knowledge.

Responsibilities

Exterior Site upkeep (seasonal landscaping duties mow lawns, shovel snow, collect trash)

Interior Site upkeep (Complete repairs to drywall, wood and concrete)

Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming

Forklift operations

Conduct maintenance tasks (painting, replacing light bulbs, general repairs)

Inspect and troubleshoot issues with equipment and systems (Forklifts, heating, plumbing etc.)

Coordinate with other employees and trades personnel

Report any issues to the maintenance manager

Maintain accurate checklists and logs for building cleanliness, equipment and safety protocols

Requirements

Building Maintenance experience (min 1 Year)

Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems

Experience using hand tools, electric tools, and gas powered equipment

Forklift is required, skid steerer and scissor lift experience an asset

Ability to read technical manuals

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to interact professionally with staff, market vendors and customers on a regular basis

Self motivated and able to work alone/with others

Physical stamina and dexterity required

Able to work in a very diverse environment

Position requires minimum 32 hour availability working hours and a maximum of 40/week. Work days will be Monday - Thursday and possibility of some weekend work if needed. Benefits are available after 3 month probation period.
