ROLE PURPOSEThe Vice President of Administrative and People Operations will play a critical role in supporting the Chief Administrative Officer in leading the organization's administrative, operational, and HR functions. This role ensures the effective coordination of internal operations, facilitates organizational efficiency, and supports the implementation of strategic initiatives across departments. The VP of Administrative Operations will have oversight of administrative services and operational workflows, acting as a key connector between leadership, staff, and functional teams.REPORTING AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPSReports and is accountable to the Chief Administrative OfficerParticipates as a member of the Connective Executive TeamLiaises with staff and volunteers of community and government agencies as requiredLiaises with the staff of Connective as necessaryKEY ACCOUNTABILITIESBuilding a Great TeamPartner with the CAO to design and implement operational strategies that drive organizational efficiency, effectiveness, and impactLead the development and execution of annual & multi-year strategic administrative initiatives aligned with the overall vision.Support the alignment of organizational structures, systems, and processes to promote collaboration, clarity, and consistency across regions and departmentsEnsure compliance with administrative policies, contracts, and relevant legal and regulatory requirementsProvide executive oversight of administrative processes related to HR operations, risk management, and workforce systemsIdentify opportunities for process improvement, innovation, and technology adoption across organizational functionsEncourages a culture of exploration and forward-thinking, driving the organization's evolution.Intermediary between CAO, Executive Team and the broader organization for ongoing communications regarding administrative projects and strategic imperatives.Communicate key messages and updates clearly and effectively across all levels of the organizationCultivate a values-driven culture grounded in Connective's mission, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.Lead culture transformation initiatives and reconciliation-focused approaches across all regions and departmentsBuild and sustain highly engaged teams that are self-driven to innovate and deliver resultsInvest in ongoing leadership development and support the growth of administrative and operational leaders within the organizationStrategic LeadershipFull understanding of Board and Governance processes to ensure effective preparation for and active participation in all Board of Directors meetingsPromote effective governance through transparency, integrity, and adherence to internal and external compliance standardsEnsure administrative and operational strategies support the evolving needs of employees, service users, and other internal and external stakeholdersRepresent Connective's employer brand externally; build partnerships with funders, regulators, and equity-focused sector bodies. Stay ahead of emerging best practices, regulatory changes, and sector-wide trends; lead adaptation efforts accordingly. Promote Connective's values of inclusion, equity, and reconciliation in all internal and external interactionsDeliver Performance and ResultsAdvance employee and leadership development with a focus on accountability, continuous learning, and client-centered practiceOversee departmental budgeting, workforce financial modelling, and cost-effective compensation strategiesProvide oversight for resource allocation, cost-control initiatives, and operational forecasting Operational oversight of administration, policies, procedures and implications of government legislationDrive continuous improvement of internal systems and workflows to enhance coordination, efficiency, and accountability.Support organization-wide planning and performance tracking through data-informed decision-makingOversee integration of risk management and compliance frameworks across administrative operationsWork with the CAO and Executive Team to proactively assess, mitigate, and monitor organizational risks, including reputation, compliance, and operational threatsEnsure risk frameworks are embedded in people and administration practices, operational planning, and leadership decision-makingPersonal Accountability & WellbeingManage personal well-being, energy, and work-life balanceDemonstrate personal resilience, calm, confident, positive presence under pressureDedicate focus and time to expanding own leadership capacity and capabilitiesWORKING CONDITIONSFunction independently, while remaining a crucial member of the Executive leadership teamAdhere to Connective policies and proceduresBe available to work flexible hours as needed. May include some evenings/weekends, as determined by the regional office needs and schedulesEXPERIENCE AND SKILLSA Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Public Administration, Human resources, or related field7+ years of progressive leadership experienceExperience with social services management, unions, and non-profit managementExperience working in multi-region and mission-driven organizations is an assetExtensive knowledge of employment laws and legislationStrategic, systems-oriented thinker with advanced communication and influence skillsAbility to motivate and lead teams to accomplish goals, and work in a fast paced, multi-task environmentStrong leadership and interpersonal skills, conflict management, and resolution strategies, as well as a positive work approachREQUIREMENTSAbility to successfully complete a RCMP and vulnerable persons checkAbility to successfully pass a reference checkValid driver's licenseCOMPENSATIONAnnual salary will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications. This role will also be eligible for Connective's comprehensive Management Benefits Package.
