Position: Purchasing Coordinator
Location: Burlington Office
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Reports to: VP, Procurement
Position Overview
The Purchasing Coordinator supports the procurement function by managing inventory, placing purchase orders, and coordinating with vendors to ensure the timely delivery of goods and services at the best possible value. This role involves researching supplier options, securing quotations, maintaining accurate purchasing records, and collaborating with internal departments to meet operational and project needs.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Order Management
- Monitor project schedules to determine purchasing requirements.
- Create and issue purchase orders.
- Track shipments and delivery timelines.
- Expedite, delay, or adjust orders as needed to meet project or departmental requirements.
Administrative Support
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchasing records and files.
- Update and manage vendor databases.
- Perform administrative tasks to support smooth departmental operations.
Cost Analysis & Reporting
- Conduct cost comparisons and analyze supplier pricing.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative supplier options.
- Prepare monthly purchasing reports by project and location.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Construction, Station Operations, Finance, and other departments to ensure proper receipt, documentation, and payment of goods.
Issue Resolution
- Liaise with vendors to resolve discrepancies, shipment issues, or product quality concerns.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with computer software, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Solid analytical skills for cost analysis and market research.
- Good understanding of supply chain processes and delivery timelines.
- Knowledge of the Construction or Fuel/Convenience sectors is an asset
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
