Travel Requirements:
- Approximately 10 percent (Domestic and International)
Category Focus
- Primary Focus: Baseball / Slo-Pitch, Footwear
- Secondary Focus: Soccer, Golf, Volleyball, Inflatables, Pickleball, Eyewear
- Additional categories as required
Category Coordinator – Summary:
The Category Coordinator supports category strategy execution by managing vendor programs, pricing, data reporting, and merchandising activities. This role acts as a key liaison between vendors, members, and internal teams, ensuring accurate buying cycle execution, inventory coordination, and category performance analysis, with a primary focus on Baseball / Slo-Pitch and Footwear.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and publish vendor contracts, programs, and pricing as directed by the Category Manager
- Support merchandising activities and assigned tasks to maximize category performance
- Generate, analyze, and report category sales data to the Category Manager and Buying Committees
- Act as a key point of contact between Vendors, Members, and the Category Management Team
- Use internal systems to support warehouse programs, create purchase orders, and manage inventory
- Assist with planning and scheduling category buying committee meetings
- Participate in Product Line Reviews and support final product selection
- Attend and support seasonal category committee meetings
- Coordinate pricing across categories with the Category Management Team
- Collect vendor sales and program data on a monthly or quarterly basis
- Review vendor programs and pricing for accuracy and recommend adjustments when needed
- Collaborate with the internal data team to ensure accurate and timely reporting
- Communicate web pricing, promotions, product launches, and markdowns with the Marketing Team
- Assist with trade show preparation and on-site support, including product listings, sales materials, merchandising, and vendor samples
Job Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 or more years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of buying cycle principles and processes
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Intermediate Excel skills required (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP)
- Experience with purchasing and order management
- Knowledge of Baseball and Footwear categories is a strong asset
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM to 4:45 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Compensation and Benefits:
- Annual salary range of $50,000 to $55,000 dollars, based on experience
