Purpose Of Position
To develop, maintain and manage sales opportunities for Hexagon's Underground technology portfolio within the mining industry in the defined geographic area/territory

  • Achieve business targets set on an annual and quarterly basis
  • Develop business plans and strategies in the assigned territory with relevant stakeholders
  • To contribute to the development of project deployment, customer service and technical support service for the regions
  • Establish business opportunities for the Mining business in the region of responsibility, to maintain and build strategic relationships with existing and potential customers and industry contacts

Major Areas Of Responsibility
Develop and implement strategic business development plans to continue the growth of the Hexagon Underground technology portfolio

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the assigned geographic region, industry, and customer needs and requirements
  • Identify new targeted clients in the assigned area by performing competitive market analysis related to the products and solutions in the underground portfolio
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with current and prospective dealers, agents, related Hexagon entities and third parties (i.e. key account figures) who have influence over the markets and regions targeted for business opportunities
  • Manage sales leads through to closure and monitor against approved budgets to ensure financial results are on, or ideally above, target and implement plans to counteract deviations
  • Ability to organize, track and report on sales pipeline and progress updates
  • Perform presentations to existing and potential new customers
  • Present and demonstrate the product range and associated benefits for potential new or existing customers
  • Negotiate sales contracts, close deals and work with project deployment/service teams until project is handed over to the account management team
  • Develop financial and personnel budgets for approval by senior management
  • Identify, foster and leverage relationships with internal stakeholders, customers and industry contacts supporting the attainment of the goals for the business
  • Work collaboratively with the Product Management team to provide insights into client and industry product requirements as well as potential developments which will set Hexagon apart from its competitors
  • Represent Hexagon Mining in industry events and tradeshows and collaborate with the Product Management & Marketing team, and Sales & Account Management teams to prepare for such events
  • Represent the business in industry associations where appropriate to advance the interests of the Hexagon Mining
  • Prepare periodic sales reports and forecasts as required.
  • Liaise with Finance department for management of receivables.
  • Compliance with all of Hexagon's policies and procedures
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time

Knowledge And Experience - Required

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Mining Engineering or Geology with a working knowledge of the products, competitors and client base within the applicable territory with a focus on Underground technology products in the mineral extraction space.
  • Proven successful sales and/or account management track record is essential
  • Considerable commercial experience in the mining/geology industry – highly desirable
  • Commercial experience dealing with technical products and solutions used by the mining and mineral exploration industry is essential
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience

Knowledge And Experience - Desired

  • Strong presentation skills especially to groups and forums of customers.
  • An aptitude for developing plans and strategies to succeed
  • Multi-lingual, english is a pre-requisite, a second language is an asset (french, spanish, etc.)
  • A passion for achieving business goals and sales targets
  • Advanced skills in developing and maintaining strong strategic relationships
  • A passion for superior product delivery and customer service and an appreciation for the need for a positive end-user experience
  • Keen interest in technology

Travel

  • Domestic travel up to 50% of the time with the possibility of limited International travel
  • Travel may occur outside of regular business hours on occasion due to urgent business needs

  • Salary commensurate with experience and work location
  • Hexagon maintains several office locations in the US/Canada and hiring locations other than the one listed may be considered
