Mechanic 310T

Brass Inc is looking for a licensed mechanic (310T) for our Port Perry Shop. This is a rewarding full-time permanent position, with the opportunity to learn and advance your skillset in a progressive environment of diversely trained professionals.

Reporting to the Fleet manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for diagnosing problems and making repairs to all types of trucks, trailers, automotive and construction equipment. We pride ourselves on a headlight to tail light approach where we can see a project come to completion from the ground up. All your skills will be put to the test daily from electrical, mechanical, fabrication, painting and finite skills. Our trained staff work closely together to accomplish the goal of projecting the Brass Standard throughout our fleet.

As a 310T mechanic your duties may include:

· Perform repair work on heavy trucks

· Company light duty pickup truck repairs

· Inspecting bulldozers, excavators, skid-steers and other heavy construction equipment for proper performance, and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions

· Good knowledge and experience in internal combustion engines (diesel and gas)

· Diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required

· Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems using hand and power tools

· Testing repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications

· Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment

· Participate in MTO yearly safety inspections

· Participate in workplace safety, environmentally sound and healthy behaviors and objectives

· Hard working with the capability and willingness to take initiative to take on other tasks as they arise

What you bring to Brass:

· Minimum 2 years' experience

· Licensed 310T Mechanic

· Hard working and follows instructions

· Good communication skills, great work attitude

· Quality driven

· Own hand tools up to 3/4"

· Valid driver's license

· Available for occasional on-call circumstances (for emergencies)

· Punctual early start times

· Work environment is in a rural area reliable transportation needed
