Overview
We are a scratch cooking Italian restaurant. We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes while maintaining a positive and efficient kitchen environment. As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee kitchen operations, manage staff, and ensure that all food preparation meets our high standards of quality and presentation.
Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food preparation.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure adherence to food safety and handling standards.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Help develop new menu items based on seasonal ingredients and customer feedback.
Skills
- Strong experience in a restaurant environment with a focus on food handling and service.
- Proven ability in team management and supervising kitchen staff effectively.
- Knowledge of bartending is a plus for coordinating with beverage services.
- Excellent communication skills to foster teamwork within the kitchen.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Creativity in menu development and willingness to experiment with new dishes.
