Position Overview

The Business Development Individual will be instrumental in shaping the future of our company by expanding our customer base, improving fleet efficiency, and ensuring seamless daily operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in trucking logistics and sales, capable of fostering strong industry partnerships while driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities (sales & operations focused)

• Drive new revenue by prospecting, pitching, and securing FTL, LTL, and expedited business.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with shippers, brokers, and key accounts.
• Develop and execute sales strategies to grow lanes, market share, and margins.
• Negotiate rates and contracts to win profitable freight.
• Oversee day-to-day logistics operations, including dispatching and scheduling.
• Optimize fleet utilization, route planning, and service performance.
• Work closely with drivers and colleagues to ensure on-time pickup and delivery.
• Monitor shipments, resolve service issues, and deliver excellent customer service.
• Track KPIs, quoting activity, and pipeline to hit targets.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in trucking logistics, freight brokerage, or transportation sales.
• Proven success in business development and revenue growth within the logistics sector.
• Strong knowledge of freight logistics, routing, and cost management.
• Excellent negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.
• Strategic problem-solving abilities with an innovative mindset.
• Experience working with brokers, carriers, and direct shippers.
• Proficiency in logistics software and tools (experience with Rose Rocket is an asset).
• A proactive, goal-oriented attitude with a commitment to company success.
