Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Assistant to support our supply chain and warehouse operations. This role involves coordinating shipping and receiving, managing inventory, and assisting with procurement processes to ensure seamless logistics flow. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse management systems, transportation management, and data analysis skills to optimize supply chain efficiency. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth within a dynamic logistics environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with warehouse distribution, order fulfillment, and materials management to ensure timely delivery of products
  • Support shipping & receiving activities, including packaging, order picking, and freight coordination
  • Utilize ERP systems such as AS400 and Warehouse Management Systems to track inventory levels and process transactions
  • Collaborate with procurement teams on sourcing, purchasing, and demand planning to optimize inventory levels
  • Manage transportation management systems (TMS) for freight scheduling and 3PL coordination
  • Conduct data analysis to identify process improvement opportunities and enhance supply chain efficiency
  • Maintain accurate records of shipping, receiving, and inventory movements in CMMS and other tracking tools
  • Support pricing strategies and assist in procurement activities to reduce costs while maintaining quality standards
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts safely and efficiently when required
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all logistics activities

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or materials management
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as AS400 or similar platforms; experience with Warehouse Management System (WMS) is preferred
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing, demand planning, and freight management
  • Strong data analysis skills to interpret logistics metrics and identify process improvements
  • Experience working with transportation management systems (TMS) and 3PL providers
  • Ability to operate forklifts safely; forklift certification is a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and inventory control
  • Basic understanding of packaging, order picking, and e-commerce logistics processes
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate across departments and external partners
  • Warehouse experience including materials handling and shipping & receiving procedures is highly desirable
