We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Restaurant Manager for a prestigious, full-service, high-end Mexican cuisine restaurant located in the vibrant downtown Toronto area. This role requires an experienced leader who can manage multiple operational facets, including brunch, dinner, and nightclub services, to deliver exceptional customer experiences in a fast-paced, upscale environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing both the front-of-house and back-of-house teams, with additional expertise in overseeing night club operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Oversee daily operations of a luxury, high-end Mexican restaurant offering full-service dining, brunch, dinner, and nightclub experiences.
  • Manage a team of 6-15 employees per shift, ensuring a seamless transition between brunch, dinner, and nightclub service times.
  • Lead, supervise, train, and coach staff to ensure consistent service quality, aligning with the restaurant's brand values and upscale ambiance.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and create growth plans for team members.
  • Handle the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding process to build a motivated, top-tier team.
  • Manage work schedules to ensure optimal labor cost control and service delivery during peak hours.

Operational Excellence

  • Continuously evaluate and refine daily operations to ensure exceptional guest experiences across all service periods—brunch, dinner, and late-night service.
  • Oversee financial performance, including tracking revenue, labor costs, and inventory management, ensuring profitability across all service formats.
  • Maintain strict adherence to company policies, health regulations, and service standards.
  • Ensure the restaurant's compliance with health, safety, and food handling regulations to provide a clean and welcoming environment for both day and nighttime guests.

Customer Experience & Guest Relations

  • Foster a high-end Mexican dining experience across multiple services—brunch, dinner, and club nights—ensuring top-tier customer service at all times.
  • Address and resolve guest concerns promptly to maintain high customer satisfaction levels.
  • Build and nurture customer loyalty by creating memorable dining and nightlife experiences.
  • Manage private events, catering services, and special requests to enhance customer engagement and increase revenue.
  • Oversee the transition from dinner service to nightclub, ensuring smooth operations during late hours.

Inventory & Cost Control

  • Supervise inventory management to ensure quality stock levels, timely ordering, and minimizing waste across multiple service types.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to manage costs while maintaining the highest standards of ingredients, beverages, and supplies.
  • Utilize sales trends and cost-control strategies to maximize profitability, particularly focusing on efficient management of alcohol and bar inventory.

Technology & Administrative Tasks

  • Use POS systems, inventory management software, Excel, and Word to track performance, generate reports, and manage employee schedules.
  • Handle cash management duties, including balancing cash drawers and completing cash reports, ensuring accurate financial documentation across all service periods.
  • Utilize scheduling software to efficiently manage staffing across brunch, dinner, and late-night shifts.

Key Qualifications:

Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years in a managerial or supervisory role in high-end restaurants, particularly in fine dining, specialty cuisines (such as Mexican), and nightclub operations.
  • Proven experience managing both front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) teams in a high-volume, full-service restaurant, with exposure to brunch, dinner, and club operations.
  • Previous leadership experience in managing a seamless transition between dining service and nightclub events.

Skills

  • Exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a passion for creating extraordinary dining and nightlife experiences.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on team development and retention.
  • Expertise in inventory management, financial analysis, and cost control to optimize profitability.
  • Experience managing nightclub operations, including late-night staffing and service.

Certifications

  • Smart Serve certification (mandatory for alcohol service).
  • Additional certifications in hospitality management or nightlife operations a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Comfortable with standing, walking, and managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, including evening and late-night hours.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree or relevant coursework in business management, hospitality, or culinary arts preferred.

Work Schedule

  • 8-hour shifts with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate brunch, dinner, and nightclub service hours.
