OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE:

The Product Marketing Specialist plays a key role in bringing products from development through launch and beyond. This role works at the intersection of product development, packaging, and go-to-market execution, collaborating closely with Marketing, Sales, Regulatory, Operations, and the R&D Commercialization Manager. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with a passion for food, packaging, and consumer-facing communication. This is a hands-on role supporting a portfolio of primarily meat-based products, where collaboration, accuracy, and follow-through are essential to success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Packaging, Label & Product Information

· Own all consumer-facing packaging elements from packaging design to print execution

· Develop and maintain brand standards and support regulatory compliance in collaboration with Brand Manager and QA

· Develop packaging messaging, claims, and product storytelling

· Manage and coordinate design agencies and final artwork approvals in collaboration with Regulatory, plants, printers, vendors, and retailers

· Support shelf impact, shopper appeal, and competitive benchmarking

Go-To-Market Strategy & Launch Execution

  • Lead cross-functional alignment on go-to-market timelines, packaging readiness, and launch execution requirements

  • Partner with Brand Manager, Trade Marketing, and Sales to define target audiences and consumer communication strategies

  • Support the development of GTM plans (positioning, messaging, pricing, distribution considerations)

Product Development, Commercialization & Launch Support

  • Coordinate updates to product documentation as projects evolve, ensuring accuracy, version control, and alignment across teams

  • Partner with the R&D Commercialization Manager to ensure product requirements, packaging direction, and consumer-facing details are clearly documented and communicated to plants

  • Partner with Marketing Team on the development of sell sheets, retailer decks, and product presentations for new and existing products

  • Support product development activities by assisting with the creation, coordination, and maintenance of product briefs and documentation packages for plant and cross-functional use

  • Support plant readiness by ensuring packaging, labelling, and product communication elements are complete and aligned before launch

  • Support retail listings and distribution initiatives in collaboration with Sales and Trade Marketing

  • Ensure consistency across packaging, campaigns, and sell-in materials throughout the commercialization and launch execution

Post-Launch Product Support

  • Own post-launch product support (updates, changes, issue resolution)

  • Serve as an escalation and coordination point for product issues and complaints

  • Liaise with plants, QA and R&D on investigation

  • Translate post-launch learnings into inputs that support continuous improvement initiatives

  • Support Sales/Marketing with approved, compliant messaging

Product Lifecycle Support

  • Provide recommendations and insights for line extensions, renovations, reformulations, and discontinuations in partnership with the Sales and R&D Commercialization Manager

  • Support long-term portfolio strategy

Product Data & GS1 Ownership

  • Own the accuracy and coordination of product data across internal and external platforms (Sage X3, GS1, customer systems)

  • Manage and maintain product specs, imagery, samples, and GS1 imaging requirements

Additional Responsibilities

· Participate in tradeshows, workshops, and industry events as required

· Perform other related duties aligned with business objectives

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Food Science, or a related field.

  • 4–6+ years of experience in product marketing, brand management, or commercialization within CPG; food or protein-based categories strongly preferred

  • Strong experience with label and packaging design, including artwork development, print production, and the ability to translate product attributes into effective, consumer-facing communication

  • Demonstrated experience supporting product launches and renovations from concept through market introduction

  • Working knowledge of labelling regulations and experience collaborating with Regulatory and QA teams to ensure compliance

  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and communicative, with strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Comfortable working hands-on with meat-based products, including participation in sensory evaluations, tastings, and product reviews throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent design tools

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier visits, industry events, or tradeshows as required

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in food manufacturing, protein-based products, or specialty foods

  • Exposure to retail, food service, or club channels

  • Bilingual (English/French)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $68,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
