Human Resources & Recruitment Coordinator

At Atlantic Poultry Incorporated (API) we are committed to feeding our communities through stewardship of the land and animals in our care to inspire the next generation of Atlantic Canadian Farmers. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR & Recruitment Coordinator to support our Human Resources function and manage end-to-end recruitment activities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, juggling multiple priorities, and contributing to a positive employee experience.

Position Accountabilities

  • Coordinate and manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, screening, interviews, and offers

  • Ensure a positive candidate experience for all applicants

  • Represent API at local job fairs

  • Liaise with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and timelines

  • Schedule interviews and maintain clear communication with candidates
  • Maintain accurate HR and recruitment records and databases
  • Support HR administration, including contracts, employee files, and compliance documentation
  • Assist with HR initiatives such as performance reviews, engagement activities, and policy updates
  • Provide support and coordination for return-to-work programs related to workers' compensation claims, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Respond to employee and candidate inquiries in a professional and timely manner

  • Create and distribute monthly newsletters

  • Contribute to HR projects, initiatives, and continuous improvement activities
  • Influence a positive and welcoming work culture
  • Contribute to an environment free of animal cruelty, abuse and/or neglect for our poultry
  • Follow all safety and biosecurity processes and procedures

Position Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience, is considered an asset
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Pleasant and outgoing with a positive, professional approach to employee relations
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now is an asset
  • Confident and effective communicator with a professional and approachable demeanor
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 5% of the time
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Adaptable and responsive to changing needs
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision
