Dr. Yang is a General and Colorectal surgeon in Cambridge looking to hire a full-time office assistant. Familiarity with medical terminology is necessary. Experience with Meditech and Picis OR booking preferred. Familiarity with Accuro EMR preferred. Full time M-F, primarily 9-5pm with some flexibilities. Must be fully vaccinated.

Responsibilities:

  • Appointment scheduling and management for office, operating room, endoscopy, and diagnostic tests
  • Schedule appointments based on triage priority and call patients to remind them of scheduled appointments
  • Present friendly and professional image to patients and external medical peers
  • Managing inbound and outbound telephone calls
  • Triage patient concerns
  • Confirm and update patient information, including email address acquisition
  • Creating and maintaining confidential patient records in the EMR software
  • Checking voicemail
  • Send and retrieve fax, emails, and mail
  • Escort patient to exam room and setup/clean patient rooms
  • Manage referrals and ensure relevant supporting investigations are requested

Qualification & Skills:

  • Experience and/or training with electronic medical record system (knowledge of Accuro EMR is an asset)
  • Excellent verbal, phone, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask effectively and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to take initiative, exercise sound judgment, and problem-solving
  • Proficiency with medical terminology is an asset
  • Medical office experience of at least 2 years preferred
  • Graduate of Medical office assistant program an asset
  • Works well in team setting
  • Ability to demonstrate confidentiality absolutely necessary

Job Type: 10 months contract, full time to cover maternity leave.

Salary: Start at $21 per hour
