Overview
The Business Development & Events Manager is a key revenue-driving leader responsible for identifying, securing, and managing new business opportunities across all Waad Ventures brands, including catering contracts, corporate partnerships, in-store events, off-site activations, collaborations, and special occasions such as weddings, birthdays, cultural celebrations, and seasonal programs.
This role combines sales, relationship-building, operations coordination, and event execution, ensuring that every partnership and event meets our brand standards, financial goals, and client expectations. The ideal candidate is proactive, creative, organized, and experienced in both hospitality and business development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Develop, implement, and execute a strong business development strategy across all brands
- Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities including:
- Corporate catering contracts
- Government & institutional partnerships
- School, university, and community events
- Private events (birthdays, weddings, engagements, baby showers, etc.)
- Holiday programs (Ramadan Iftar, Christmas brunch, Easter events)
- Brand collaborations and co-marketing deals
- Build and maintain a pipeline of leads, partners, and clients
- Develop proposals, quotes, and presentations tailored to each opportunity
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets
2. Event Planning & Execution
- Coordinate all event logistics such as menus, staffing, equipment, setup, décor, transportation, timing
- Work with restaurant GMs, kitchen managers, operations, and marketing to ensure all events run smoothly
- Conduct pre-event site visits and consultations with clients
- Create event run-sheets, checklists, and timelines
- Ensure food quality, service standards, and brand experience are delivered flawlessly
- Manage in-store events (e.g., PR nights, Influencer brunches, tasting events, launches)
3. Client & Partner Relationship Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for all event and catering clients
- Develop long-term relationships with corporate clients, wedding planners, event agencies, and community organizations
- Handle client inquiries, negotiations, and contract signings
- Follow up post-event for feedback and repeat business
- Maintain CRM records, track leads, and update sales progress
4. Collaboration & Internal Coordination
- Work closely with:
- Operations – staffing, scheduling, logistics, service standards
- Culinary / Central Kitchen – menu customization, tasting sessions, food production
- Procurement – sourcing special items for events
- Marketing – promotional activities, co-branding, event coverage
- Finance – costing, invoicing, payments
- HR – event staff allocation and training
- Lead weekly BD/Event coordination meetings
5. Budgeting, Pricing & Financial Management
- Prepare event budgets and proposals with accurate cost breakdowns
- Develop standard packages for catering and events (corporate, private, seasonal)
- Ensure profitability on every event or partnership
- Monitor event income, expenses, vendor charges, and margins
- Support Finance with invoices, collections, and cost analysis
- Report to the Director of Operations Bi-weekly pipeline, backlog, plans, forecast and overall performance
6. Brand Experience & Innovation
- Design unique event concepts aligned with each brand's identity
- Suggest new catering products, seasonal offerings, and event add-ons
- Benchmark against competitors and global best practices
- Explore new revenue models (subscription catering, office breakfast programs, mobile pop-ups, etc.)
Requirements
- 4–6+ years of experience in business development, events management, hospitality sales or similar roles
- Strong understanding of the F&B industry, catering operations, and event logistics
- Proven ability to meet revenue targets and manage multiple projects
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Strong networking ability with corporate, community, and event stakeholders
- High organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work evenings/weekends as required during events
- CRM experience and proficiency in MS Office
- Valid driver's license
