We are currently hiring an Optometric Technician to join our team in Vaughan, ON

As a respected provider of eye care services since 2006, Dr. Rahim Hirji and his team take immense pride in delivering exceptional services to patients. As a technician / optometric assistant, you would play a critical role in assisting our optometrists and ensuring the highest quality of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for eye exams by taking preliminary medical histories
  • Assist optometrists in conducting comprehensive eye examinations
  • Perform specialized tests such as visual field testing, OCT and retinal imaging
  • Assist & perform i-Forma and IPL Dry Eye Treatments
  • Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care
  • Document patient information accurately in electronic health records
  • Collaborate with the medical team to ensure smooth patient flow
  • Conduct precise lens edging and cutting to match patients' prescriptions
  • Assist patients with frame selection and ensuring a comfortable fit
  • Perform repairs and adjustments on eyeglass frames
  • Assist other members of the team with patient care and other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Position Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an Optometric Technician, including expertise in edging and frame repair, is preferred
  • Strong understanding of lens edging, cutting, and frame repair techniques is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring demeanor
  • Proficiency in using ophthalmic equipment and conducting tests
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and craftsmanship
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to follow instructions closely
  • Certification or training in optometric technology and edging is an advantage
