**Job Summary**
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the optometrist in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of the office. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks that enhance the patient experience, from managing appointments to assisting with optical sales.

**Duties**
- Greet and assist patients as they arrive in the office, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Manage front desk operations including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and handling patient inquiries.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure all patient information is up-to-date.
- Assist with preliminary eye exams and tests as directed by the optometrist.
- Provide education to patients regarding their eye care needs and treatment options.
- Support optical sales by helping patients select eyewear that meets their needs and preferences.
- Handle inventory management for optical products and supplies.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow within the medical office setting.

**Requirements**:

- Familiarity with medical terminology and experience in a medical office environment is preferred.
- Prior experience in front desk operations or patient care is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records systems; experience with Epic is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with an emphasis on customer service and patient interaction.
- Retail sales experience, particularly in an optical or healthcare setting, is advantageous.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Experience working with pediatrics is a plus but not required.

This job entails 1 evening per week and 2 Saturday Shifts per month.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
