The Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan (HSAS) is a union representing more than 4,000 health care professionals who work within the Saskatchewan Health Authority, several privately owned EMS services in Saskatchewan, and at Canadian Blood Services in Regina. Executive Assistant – Saskatoon or Regina

The Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan has an exciting opportunity for an Executive Assistant in either our Saskatoon or Regina offices. The Executive Assistant reports to the Manager of Finance and Operations and will provide administrative and executive support to the HSAS President, Executive Council and related committees and HSAS Senior Leadership. Duties and responsibilities include:

· Preparing background meeting materials, briefing notes and presentations as well as taking minutes at meetings or events as required by the HSAS President, HSAS Executive Council and related committees and HSAS Senior Leadership.

· Managing the day-to-day administration for the HSAS President, HSAS Executive Council and related committees and HSAS Senior Leadership.

· Exercises initiative, judgement and knowledge of HSAS policies, practices and organization.

· Supports activities requiring a high degree of confidentiality, attention to detail and accuracy.

Competitive compensation based on qualifications.

Full-Time.

· Diploma from a recognized business college or completed relevant post secondary education.

· 5 years of administrative experience with at least 2 years supporting executive level staff and board of directors.

· Knowledge and understanding of the labour movement and key public policy issues.

· Advanced user of Microsoft Office.

· Proactive in terms of anticipating needs and follow-up.

· Excellent interpersonal, telephone and organizational skills.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality required of work assignments and needs to be independent and resourceful to accomplish day to day tasks and assignments.

· Self-directed and able to work under minimal supervision.

· Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities under tight deadlines, while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.

· Well-developed problem-solving skills and the ability to react calmly in stressful situations.

· Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the province using own vehicle. Some travel; evening and weekend work may be required.
