Accounting Manager

Location:
Toronto, ON - Onsite (5 days per week)

Salary:
$125,000 – $135,000 base + performance bonus

Our client, a rapidly growing real estate company with a strong presence across the GTA, is seeking a
Project Accounting Manager
(initially joining as a
Senior Project Accountant
) to take ownership of financial reporting and accounting for multiple active projects.

Known for its collaborative culture and hands-on leadership, this organization offers the opportunity to work closely with senior executives on financial analysis, investor reporting, and project performance tracking. Within six months, this position is expected to evolve into a formal
Manager-level
role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage
    equity and debt draw submissions
    for project ownership entities, partnerships, and joint ventures, liaising with cost consultants and lenders.
  • Oversee
    month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting
    , including HST filings, reconciliations, and support for external audits.
  • Contribute to
    budgeting, forecasting, and investor reporting
    processes.
  • Review and approve
    project-related invoices
    , ensuring compliance with contracts, budgets, and financing requirements.
  • Partner with
    senior management and investors
    to provide timely financial insights and project performance updates.
  • Identify and implement
    process improvements
    to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and financial controls.

Qualifications

  • CPA designation (or in advanced stages of completion).
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting or audit experience, ideally within
    real estate, construction, or related industries
    .
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and advanced
    Excel
    proficiency.
  • Excellent
    communication, analytical, and organizational
    skills.
  • A proactive, team-oriented professional motivated to grow into a
    leadership role
    within a dynamic environment.
