Position Overview:

The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments for the RMC Group of Companies. This role involves reviewing and entering invoices, obtaining necessary approvals, and maintaining organized financial records. The Clerk will handle vendor inquiries, reconcile bank statements, and support in ensuring smooth financial operations.

Requirements:

  • Process and review vendor invoices for accuracy, ensuring they are in line with company policies and contracts.
  • Match purchase orders, delivery receipts, and invoices to ensure proper documentation and approval.
  • Enter and post accounts payable transactions into the accounting system.
  • Prepare and issue payments to vendors by cheque, wire transfer, or other means, ensuring that payments are made on time and in accordance with payment terms.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding any billing issues or inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist in the preparation of month-end and year-end financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and applicable accounting standards.
  • Support the finance team in other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Reconcile bank statements.
  • Participate in company safety program and initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years prior experience in an Accounts Payable or accounting role.
  • Degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage 300, Quickbooks, and Microsoft Dynamics, etc.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft products, especially Excel.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily office based. Infrequent travel to worksites in Edmonton and area may be required.

Hours of Work:

Typical hours of work are 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday. However, overtime may be required during peak season.
