Director, Distribution

About Chatters

At Chatters, we are transforming how Canadians experience beauty — blending in-salon expertise, retail convenience, and e-commerce innovation. As we grow, we are evolving our supply chain to deliver faster, smarter, and more efficiently for our customers and partners across the country.

Position Summary

We are introducing a new leadership role and are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Distribution to assess, shape, and elevate our national distribution capabilities. This leader will conduct a full evaluation of our existing Canadian distribution network, including facilities, processes, inventory flow, transportation, technology, and 3PL partnerships, and design a scalable, modernized distribution strategy that supports the rapid growth of our e-commerce business.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in DTC fulfillment and omni-channel operations, combined with the ability to build structure, efficiency, and best practices from the ground up. A strong background in e-commerce distribution, network design, and operational scalability is essential, along with the ability to optimize cost, speed, and service for our growing digital business.

What You Will Do

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee end-to-end operations across our e-commerce fulfillment network.
  • Ensure daily execution meets service level, accuracy, safety, and productivity standards.
  • Work with internal teams on inventory management, fulfillment, shipping, and returns processes.
  • Establish and manage KPIs such as order accuracy, fulfillment speed, on-time delivery, and cost-to-serve.
  • Champion operational excellence through lean methodologies, automation, and continuous improvement.

E-Commerce & Network Optimization

  • Conduct a full assessment of the current Canadian distribution network, identifying gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Design Chatters' long-term e-commerce fulfillment strategy, including DTC capabilities, optimized network structure, ship-from-store models, and 3PL partnerships.
  • Build a future-state distribution strategy aligned to customer expectations, e-commerce growth, and cost-efficiency targets.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline operations, reduce fulfillment time, and enhance service-level performance.
  • Develop and operationalize an optimized fulfillment model for e-commerce orders across Canada.
  • Identify automation and technology enhancements to improve scalability and reduce cost-to-serve.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with e-commerce, IT, Inventory, and Merchandising teams to ensure alignment between customer demand, inventory strategy, and fulfillment execution.

Strategic Growth & Scalability

  • Create and execute a multi-year distribution network strategy supporting retail, salon, and e-commerce expansion.
  • Evaluate current and future facility capacity, technology requirements, and geographic positioning.
  • Partner with senior leadership to align distribution investments with business growth priorities.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce freight costs, improve delivery efficiency, and enhance service-level performance.
  • Manage and evaluate third-party logistics partners, ensuring strong performance against KPIs and continuous improvement.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and develop the distribution leadership team, fostering accountability, engagement, and a strong safety culture.
  • Build alignment across Supply Chain, Merchandising, Retail Operations, and E-commerce teams.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executives on network design, logistics performance, and emerging distribution opportunities.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in distribution, logistics, and supply chain management, including at least 3 years in a Director-level role.
  • Proven expertise in e-commerce and omni-channel fulfillment operations — including network design, DTC fulfillment, last-mile optimization, and technology-driven distribution.
  • Demonstrated success in optimizing large-scale networks, reducing costs, and improving fulfillment performance.
  • Skilled in KPI development, process design, and automation strategy.
  • Deep understanding of E-commerce, ERP and integrated fulfillment systems.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, balanced with hands-on operational leadership.
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator who can build trust and drive alignment across functions.
  • Experience in retail, consumer goods, or high-volume distribution environments is preferred.

Why You Will Love Working with Us

  • Impact from Day One: Lead a high-profile initiative shaping Chatters' national distribution strategy.
  • Strategic Influence: Drive the evolution of our e-commerce fulfillment network as we scale across Canada.
  • Growth & Opportunity: Join a team focused on innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence.
  • Perks & Benefits: Competitive compensation, RRSP employer contributions, professional development, and exclusive discounts on Chatters products and services.
