We are seeking a highly accomplished, hands-on Director of Finance/Corporate Controller to lead our corporate finance function. This is a key leadership role for a seasoned finance professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to make a meaningful impact on the company's strategic direction, performance, and success.
Position Summary
The Director of Finance / Corporate Controller will have full responsibility for the organization's financial management. This role oversees financial reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, cash and investment management, cost accounting, ERP and systems implementation, and all aspects of audit, taxation, and internal control.
The Director of Finance / Corporate Controller will provide strategic guidance and operational support to business unit controllers and finance managers, ensuring alignment of financial policies and practices across all entities. As a member of the management team, this individual will play a central role in shaping financial strategy, supporting business planning, and driving continuous improvement across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
· Corporate Financial Leadership
· Lead the company's financial operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across all business units.
· Consolidate and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and performance metrics.
· Manage the company's balance sheet, ensuring effective oversight of assets, liabilities, and working capital.
· Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
· Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
· Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, establishing consistent financial discipline across business units.
· Provide in-depth financial and variance analysis, identifying risks and opportunities for performance improvement.
· Develop financial models and dashboards to support business planning and long-term growth strategies.
· Cash, Treasury & Investment Management
· Oversee cash flow forecasting and banking relationships.
· Manage short-term investments and facilities.
· Costing & Inventory Control
· Oversee standard costing, margin analysis, and manufacturing cost management.
· Partner with operations and supply chain teams to improve cost efficiency and profitability.
· Ensure accurate inventory valuation and control across business units.
· Audit, Taxation & Compliance
· Coordinate and lead external audits, ensuring timely completion and compliance with regulatory requirements.
· Manage corporate and business unit tax filings and liaise with external advisors on tax strategy and compliance.
· Establish and maintain strong internal controls and adequate coverage for risk insurance.
· Systems, Processes & ERP Implementation
· Drive the implementation and optimization of ERP and financial management systems.
· Standardize accounting practices, improve process efficiency, and enhance data integrity across the organization.
· Champion automation and technology adoption to strengthen reporting accuracy and operational visibility.
· Strategic Planning & Corporate Development
· Partner with senior leadership to support strategic planning, capital investments, and business expansion initiatives.
· Participate in senior management meetings, providing clear, data-driven insights and recommendations.
· Leadership & Team Development
· Lead, mentor, and develop business unit controllers and finance managers.
· Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the finance organization.
· Act as a key member of the senior management team, influencing company-wide priorities and direction.
Qualifications & Experience
· CPA, CMA, or CA designation required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
· Minimum 10 + years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role (preferably in a manufacturing or multi-entity environment).
· Proven track record in corporate finance, strategic planning, budgeting, and ERP system implementation.
· Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and working capital optimization.
· Demonstrated success leading and developing finance teams and collaborating with cross-functional leaders.
· Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
