We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotmist/Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional patient service while supporting clinical operations. Your expertise in laboratory procedures, specimen collection, and patient care will ensure smooth clinic workflows and accurate documentation. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in procedures, ensuring a positive patient experience
- Collect and process specimens accurately, adhering to laboratory techniques and aseptic methods
- Perform venipuncture (blood sampling) and capillary punctures as needed, following proper safety protocols
- Measure vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to support clinical assessments
- Maintain detailed records of laboratory procedures, specimen processing, and patient information using medical terminology
- Ensure compliance with infection control standards by practicing proper aseptic techniques and maintaining a clean work environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in laboratory procedures, including specimen collection and processing
- Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, phlebotomy (blood drawing), and physiology fundamentals
- Previous clinical laboratory experience or hospital experience is highly desirable
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and vital signs measurement
- Ability to perform venipuncture (blood sampling) safely and efficiently using proper technique
