We are seeking a versatile and motivated individual to join our team in a role that is critical to our operational success and customer satisfaction.
The Customer Service & Shipping/Receiving Representative is the vital link between our company and our customers, managing the entire order lifecycle from inquiry to delivery. This role requires a unique blend of excellent communication skills for customer interaction and strong organizational skills for warehouse logistics. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, dedicated to ensuring a seamless and positive customer experience while maintaining the efficient flow of goods in and out of our facility.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Serve as the first point of contact for customer inquiries, providing timely, accurate, and professional assistance.
- Process customer orders, quotes, returns, and warranty claims with a high degree of accuracy in our ERP system.
- Provide customers with real-time information on order status, inventory availability, and shipping tracking details.
- Investigate and resolve customer issues related to shipments, product quality, or billing, escalating to management when necessary.
- Proactively communicate with customers regarding any delays or changes to their orders.
- Maintain and update customer account information and profiles.
- Create Invoice and Packing slips for customer order.
Shipping & Receiving
- Receive all incoming shipments, verifying the accuracy of contents against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Inspect incoming goods for damage and report any discrepancies to suppliers and management.
- Prepare and pack outbound shipments securely and efficiently, selecting appropriate packaging materials to ensure product safety.
- Weigh, label, and process all outbound packages through various carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx, LTL freight).
- Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required documentation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and shipping area.
- Conduct periodic cycle counts and assist with annual physical inventory.
- Coordinate with freight carriers and schedule pickups.
Qualifications and Skills
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of combined experience in a customer service and shipping/receiving role.
- Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with shipping software (e.g., FedEx Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip) and/or an ERP system.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Forklift certification
- Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles.
- Knowledge of Hydraulic components.
- Knowledge of making hydraulic hose assemblies.
