About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Housekeeping Manager to lead the housekeeping operations of a well-established hotel in Victoria, BC. This is a senior leadership position responsible for driving cleanliness standards, team performance, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and a passion for developing teams and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, train, coach, and develop a high-performing housekeeping team
  • Manage hiring, onboarding, scheduling, performance management, and disciplinary processes
  • Build a positive, respectful, and accountable workplace culture
  • Provide daily leadership, coaching, and support to supervisors and frontline staff

Operations & Quality Control

  • Oversee daily housekeeping operations including guestrooms, public spaces, laundry, and back-of-house areas
  • Ensure all rooms and public areas meet or exceed brand and internal quality standards
  • Conduct regular inspections and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain strong QA, guest satisfaction, and cleanliness scores

Scheduling & Labour Management

  • Create and manage department schedules to align with occupancy and business levels
  • Control labour costs while maintaining service and cleanliness standards
  • Monitor productivity, staffing levels, and operational efficiencies

Inventory & Cost Control

  • Manage linen, amenities, chemicals, and equipment inventory
  • Control departmental budgets and expenses
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to maintain quality and cost efficiency

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Maintain WHMIS, WorksafeBC, and internal safety protocols
  • Lead ongoing safety training and audits

Interdepartmental Collaboration

  • Work closely with Front Office, Maintenance, and Leadership teams to ensure smooth operations and optimal guest experience
  • Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to operational planning and improvements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of hotel housekeeping leadership experience
  • Previous experience as Executive Housekeeper, Assistant Executive Housekeeper, or Housekeeping Manager in a hotel environment
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people-development skills
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable using hotel systems, scheduling tools, and reporting platforms
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays as required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
