Job Description

The Heavy Duty / Ag Mechanic performs a variety of activities designed to service, repair and maintain equipment.

Note: This job description may not encompass the entire scope of this role, as other duties maybe assigned by Management.

Responsibilities

  • Determines equipment condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic testing to identify worn and or damages to unit.
  • Detect faults and malfunctions and diagnose to determine extent of repair required.
  • Service, repair and maintenance of a variety of Heavy Duty and Agricultural machines such as Tractors, Hay equipment, Combines, Skid Steers and other special purpose equipment.
  • Maintain records of equipment repaired along with time spent on such equipment.
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using appropriate tools.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance.
  • Assist other mechanics with more difficult assignments.
  • Perform other related work as required.

Education & Experience

  • Journeyman Certificate or equivalent
  • 3 years experience of which must have specifically involved the repair of Heavy Duty or Agricultural equipment
