OVERVIEW:
Alberta Blue Cross is seeking a driven and results-oriented Team Manager, Group Sales (Direct) to lead our go-to-market strategy for the Small and Medium Business segment. Reporting to the Manager, Group Sales & Lead Generation, you'll play a critical role in driving growth, deepening customer engagement, and strengthening our presence in the Alberta market.
As a people-focused leader, you will inspire and guide a high-performing sales team, foster key client relationships, and champion strategic initiatives across acquisition, upsell, cross-sell, and retention. Your efforts will support Alberta Blue Cross in becoming the trusted partner for small and medium businesses in Alberta.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Identify, create, and implement effective sales strategies to drive new business acquisition, retain business and achieve revenue targets.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new opportunities for growth through emerging technologies, keeping Alberta Blue Cross at the forefront of innovation.
- Lead, motivate, inspire, coach and mentor a high performing sales team, cultivating a culture of collaboration, creativity, and results. This includes clear coaching, support, and direction, fostering strong alignment with other departments for a holistic go-to-market approach.
- Set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback to ensure the team's success.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven sales culture achieving individual and team targets.
- Continuously provide feedback and coaching, enhancing the sales team's skills, and capabilities through training, workshops, and mentoring.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners, understanding their needs and ensuring exceptional customer experience.
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities through effective networking and relationship-building.
- Track, and manage key performance indicators, sales forecasts, pipeline status, activity management, budgets, and reports against targets.
- Provide regular updates to the senior management team on sales progress, challenges, and opportunities.
- Coordinate cross-functional planning with Marketing, Product Development, Finance, and other departments to align sales strategies with overall business goals.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless customer experiences.
WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:
- Valid LLQP (Life License Qualification Program) license required.
- 2+ years of progressive and proven B2B sales leadership experience with focus on sales coaching and enablement.
- 2+ years of industry experience with a deep understanding of service offering, dynamics, trends, and challenges.
- Strong track record of driving results and curating experiences for B2B diverse customer segments with focus on opportunity planning, account planning, funnel management, and sales forecasting.
- Self-motivated, results oriented, and able to work in fast-paced environment.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of industry, trends, offering and market.
- Proven success in leading and developing high performance sales teams.
- Expertise in sales enablement and go to market strategy design.
- Experience in managing, developing, and executing successful partner channels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Experience working within a CRM, including contributing to the implementation and adoption of sales CRM practices.
- Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex strategies to internal and external stakeholders at the executive level.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients, partners and attend industry events.
- Undergraduate degree in business, or related field.
