As the Team Lead, Project Management Office you will ensure the successful execution of Calgary Transit's (CT) strategic initiatives and ensure functional alignment across the Business Unit. You will provide oversight, structure and leadership across a broad portfolio of strategic projects and modernization initiatives. Primary duties include:
- Provide direct leadership to team members by supporting recruitment, performance development and management, workplan monitoring, mentorship, coaching, recognition and general supervisory activities.
- Ensure all Project Team members and Subject Matter Experts supporting critical projects are effectively engaged, supported and aligned with project objectives.
- Oversee the development of a dynamic resource plan that aligns project staffing with divisional needs, optimizing the use of internal and external resources and managing workforce planning across the Project Management Office.
- Develop and maintain standardized project management methodologies, tools, templates and reporting structures in line with the Corporate Project Management Framework (CPMF).
- Provide project managers the necessary tools, training and support to execute projects effectively.
- Prioritize projects and manage deadlines, impact, budget and urgency.
- Provide regular updates on project status, risks and alignment with strategy and report regularly to the Senior Management Team.
- Monitor performance and track project benefits for ongoing and completed initiatives, reporting on key performance indicators that reflect the success of strategic projects.
- Facilitate workshops to engage employees and promote shared ownership and collaboration.
- Coordinate internal and external partners to ensure seamless project delivery.
Qualifications
- A degree in Project Management Public Administration, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field and at least 6 years of progressive experience overseeing and supporting projects to successful completion and leading and driving process improvements in a corporate setting.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
- A master's degree would be considered an asset.
- A designation in project management such as Project Management Professional (PMP) would be considered an asset.
- Strong relationship-building and engagement skills with internal and external partners.
- Proven leadership and communication skills, along with well-developed problem solving, critical thinking and change management skills.

Workstyle: This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
