About the Role

The Payroll Coordinator will manage end-to-end payroll for employees across Ottawa and Quebec, ensuring compliance with provincial legislation and internal policies. The ideal candidate is
bilingual (English/French)
, has hands-on experience with
Quebec payroll
, and can navigate multi-jurisdiction payroll processes with accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer payroll for Ontario and Quebec employees, ensuring compliance with provincial legislation and collective agreements where applicable.
  • Process and reconcile payroll for approx. 300 employees using
    Desjardins Payroll
    .
  • Maintain payroll-related G/L accounts and assist with month-end journal entries.
  • Support internal and external payroll audits with accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Manage employee records, deductions, and ROEs.
  • Generate payroll reports and perform data analysis to identify process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in English and French
    (oral and written).
  • 3+ years of payroll experience, with strong exposure to
    Quebec payroll legislation
    .
  • Experience managing payroll for 200+ employees across multiple provinces.
  • Hands-on experience with
    Desjardins Payroll
    .
  • Knowledge of G/L reconciliations, month-end journal entries, and payroll reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills.
  • Payroll certification (PCP or PLP) is an asset.
