The Opportunity

Are you a skilled accounting professional seeking to create a meaningful impact? If so, we invite you to be a part of our team in the role of Manager, Financial Compliance and Reporting. As a member of our team, you will provide strategic leadership in ensuring financial compliance and reporting for the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation (SHC). Your contributions will play a crucial role in fortifying the Corporation's financial management and ultimately benefiting the individuals we serve.

In this exciting opportunity, you will:

  • Act as a liaison between stakeholders and the Corporation, providing insights into financial management strategies and offering guidance on the interpretation of financial policies.
  • Establish and oversee robust organizational processes, policies, controls, and reporting systems that safeguard assets and ensure internal controls within the Corporation.
  • Manage the annual review engagement with external auditors, presenting financial information to the Management team.
  • Analyze emerging accounting and reporting standards, driving the adaptation of policies to address these changes.
  • Conduct assessments of financial compliance, risk, and internal controls to ensure operational integrity.

Our Ideal Candidate

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • A deep understanding of financial management, accounting principles, human resources standards, and administrative law.
  • The ability to identify and address complex financial reporting issues, proposing and implementing effective solutions.
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, enabling you to engage diverse audiences with clarity.
  • A commitment to fostering an environment that empowers staff to excel and achieve exceptional results.

Typically, our ideal candidate will have an educational background in accounting, with several years of experience in a management role in financial reporting and auditing/compliance. The successful completion of a degree in accounting or business/public administration combined with a Chartered Professional Accountant designation, such as a CPA, is considered an asset. Candidates must clearly indicate in their cover letter or résumé where they have acquired the knowledge and abilities required for this position.
