DESCRIPTION

Prime Video is a first-stop entertainment destination offering customers a vast collection of premium programming in one app available across thousands of devices. Prime members can customize their viewing experience and find their favorite movies, series, documentaries, and live sports – including Amazon MGM Studios – produced series and movies; licensed fan favorites; and programming from Prime Video add-on subscriptions such as Apple TV+ and Paramount+. All customers, regardless of whether they have a Prime membership or not, can rent or buy titles via the Prime Video Store, and can enjoy even more content for free with ads.

We are looking for a PR Manager to join Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios in Canada. Based in Toronto, you will manage brand reputation and corporate communications while leading strategic publicity campaigns across the Canadian market.

This role requires an accomplished communications professional who will serve as a strategic partner for Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, building and maintaining vital relationships with media representatives and business leaders to drive positive sentiment and business results.

The ideal candidate will excel at managing corporate communications programs and brand reputation initiatives alongside complex publicity campaigns across multiple stakeholders, from corporate announcements and crisis communications to content launches and talent relations. You will deliver clear and consistent messaging that aligns with broader business objectives, and leverage data-driven insights to identify trends and manage reputational risks. Success in this position requires someone who can balance strategic planning with tactical execution, demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, and drive productive outcomes through stakeholder collaboration. You will develop comprehensive corporate communications and PR strategies for Amazon MGM Studios content and Prime Video initiatives while driving operational excellence through cross-functional collaboration. This role demands someone who can anticipate potential risks, implement mitigation strategies, and maintain flexibility in meeting dynamic business needs while ensuring quality deliverables within established timelines.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead brand reputation management and corporate communications across Canada, including crisis response and issues management, while providing strategic counsel to senior leadership
  • Develop and execute comprehensive corporate communications strategies that protect and enhance Prime Video's brand reputation in the Canadian market
  • Develop and execute PR strategies for Amazon MGM Studios content and Prime Video initiatives, ensuring our stories reach and resonate with Canadian audiences
  • Lead strategic media relations efforts by cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with key journalists, industry influencers, and media outlets
  • Orchestrate high-impact events including premieres, press junkets, and talent interviews, while managing end-to-end logistics and stakeholder coordination
  • Drive data-informed decision making through consistent monitoring and analysis of PR metrics, media sentiment, and campaign effectiveness
  • Craft compelling narratives and press materials that align with Prime Video's business objectives and resonate across multiple channels
  • Coordinate cross-functional communications initiatives with various Amazon businesses (Stores, Amazon Music, etc.), ensuring consistent messaging and maximizing synergies
  • Identify and capitalize on emerging trends, cultural moments, and strategic opportunities to elevate Prime Video's brand presence, including real-time PR opportunities
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
  • Experience communicating complex business concepts in verbal and written form
  • Experience working with and influencing senior level stakeholders
  • 7+ years of proven track record of communications experience, with significant experience in entertainment, media, or technology sectors
  • Experience with crisis communications
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Deep understanding of the Canadian media landscape and entertainment industry
  • Previous television/film industry experience
  • Experience managing high-profile talent relationships
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex topics effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with global teams and multiple stakeholders
  • French language skills
