Zenetec Collision Centre is Hiring a General Manager
Are you a strong, people-focused leader with drive, integrity, and a passion for building great teams? Do you bring operational leadership experience and the desire to make a real impact—whether your background is in collision repair or a related industry? If so, we'd love to meet you.
About Us
Zenetec Collision Centre is a family-owned and operated business that has proudly served Barrie and surrounding communities since 1992. As a certified collision repair facility, we're known for quality workmanship, exceptional customer service, and a culture built on respect, accountability, and teamwork. Our people are the heart of our success.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a General Manager to lead our Thornhill location—our newest site, successfully operating for over a year and continuing to grow. While experience in the collision repair or automotive industry is an asset, we are equally open to candidates who bring strong, transferable leadership skills, operational knowledge, and the drive to learn our business and grow with us.
This role is ideal for a confident leader who aligns with our core values, inspires teams, and takes ownership of results.
What You'll Be Responsible For
As General Manager, you will oversee daily operations and guide your team to success by:
- Leading with a people-first approach and delivering exceptional customer service
- Driving quality control to ensure timely, high-standard repairs
- Managing work-in-progress (WIP), production targets, and shop capacity
- Leading daily production meetings and setting clear expectations
- Directing workflow and scheduling to meet customer and company goals
- Managing budgets, expenses, and operational performance
- Issuing and reviewing work orders with technicians
- Supporting estimating, repair planning, and customer service teams as needed
- Coaching, mentoring, and developing employees through regular 1-on-1s and performance reviews
- Approving absences, vacations, and time-off requests
- Accurately reporting production and payroll-related information
- Holding regular meetings with departmental leaders and management
- Ensuring equipment maintenance supports optimal productivity
- Participating in training, company meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Taking on evolving responsibilities as the business continues to grow
What You Bring
We're looking for the right leader, not just the right resume. You bring:
- Proven leadership experience in operations, manufacturing, automotive, or another fast-paced service environment
- Collision repair or insurance industry experience is an asset—but not required
- Strong alignment with Zenetec's core values: accountability, teamwork, integrity, and respect
- A high level of drive, ownership, and commitment to excellence
- Ability to lead, coach, and hold both yourself and others accountable
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Adaptability and confidence working in a changing environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
What We Offer
At Zenetec, we invest in our leaders:
- A family-run business with over 30 years in the industry
- A collaborative, supportive, and values-driven workplace
- Competitive compensation and growth opportunities
- Full-time position (42 hours per week, Monday–Friday)
- Group benefits including extended health, dental, AD&D, and LTD
- Team BBQs, birthday celebrations, holiday parties, and staff events
- Leadership that values initiative, ideas, and continuous improvement
We recognize that our success is built entirely on the strength of our team.
Ready to Lead With Purpose?
If you're a driven leader who wants to make a difference, grow with a respected organization, and lead a team you're proud of—we'd love to hear from you.
Zenetec welcomes applications from people with disabilities. Accommodations are available upon request for candidates participating in all aspects of the selection process.
