Position Overview:

The General Sales Manager (GSM) will oversee the entire sales department and be a key driver in optimizing inventory, leading high-performance teams, and executing strategic initiatives to exceed sales goals. This role is ideal for a used car sales expert who is professional in inventory management, excels in auction-based purchasing, and has a strong background in sales strategy development and performance execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and manage the sales team to achieve and exceed targets.
  • Oversee inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels, vehicle turnover, and profitability.
  • Source and purchase inventory through auctions and wholesale channels with a strategic eye for quality, demand, and margin.
  • Analyze and implement sales strategies to grow revenue and market share.
  • Monitor sales processes, CRM usage, and lead handling for maximum conversion efficiency.
  • Stay current on market trends and customer needs to adjust inventory and pricing strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, finance, and service departments.
  • Address and resolve customer issues with professionalism and urgency.
  • Provide regular sales performance reports and forecasts to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive sales, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Deep expertise in the used car industry.
  • Proven success in buying inventory through auctions and managing used car stock.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to turn data into action.
  • Proficient with dealership management systems (DMS) , Vauto and CRM tools
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience with digital retail and online used car sales platforms.
