Our Chartered Professional Accounting firm in Burnaby is seeking an Office Administrator to support our high performing group. This is a part-time position with opportunities for additional hours (up to full-time) depending on the practice's needs.

Qualification and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Meet & greet clients and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Must be well organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette.
  • Must be proficient in Word and Excel with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sending documents to clients and retrieving information from secure client portal.
  • Scanning client files for archiving.
  • Ordering office supplies and managing inventories.
  • Ensure the reception area, lunchroom, boardroom, stationery and filing areas are clean and tidy.
  • Receiving packages from deliveries.
  • Arranging and couriering daily and weekly packages.
  • Participate in various internal committees.
  • Various weekly/monthly external errands as required (Canada Post / Food etc.…). Own transportation is ideal but not mandatory. Mileage is reimbursed.
  • Provide announcements to the team via email & MS teams as requested by Managing partners.
  • Assist with planning and executing company events, meetings, and training sessions.
  • Must be comfortable with using and learning different computer programs.
  • Other office duties and special projects as assigned.

The successful individual should be detail oriented and a self-starter with the ability to work independently or collaboratively as a team player; further, demonstrating kindness, assertiveness, and the ability to multi-task under tight deadlines as core competencies.

Schedule: Part-time. Monday to Friday 9-5pm. Exact days and times to be discussed.

  • Additional hours are available based on business' needs, especially during February, March, and April. Extended hours and flexibility during this period are mandatory.

Job Type: Part-time.

Starting wage: $23 per hour and up depending on experience.

Education: Secondary School completion.

Experience:

  • Administrative Assistant: 1 year minimum.
  • Receptionist: 1 year minimum.
  • Preference will be given to those with accounting office experience.
