For more information, check out this video about Working at Bethany.   About the role  Bethany Care Society is seeking a Communications and Marketing Specialist who will play an integral role in the organization, shaping how Bethany is seen, understood, and experienced by our residents, families, employees, partners, and the broader community. As a key storyteller and brand steward, this role collaborates with internal teams and external partners to plan and execute communications and marketing initiatives that strengthen our organization's brand and visual identity. This includes developing advertising, website content, social media campaigns, event materials, and other collateral. The role will also ensure consistent messaging across all platforms, manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment, analyze performance metrics, and handle sensitive information with professionalism.   The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, able to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution, managing multiple priorities, and adapting messaging to meet diverse stakeholder needs. This role also requires sound judgment, creativity, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to manage confidential information with discretion.   What You will Do:
  • Support Bethany's communications and marketing strategies by implementing initiatives that enhance the organization's reputation and promote its mission of Creating Caring Communities. 
  • Develop and manage engaging content for social media, websites, newsletters, and other communication channels that celebrate residents, families, and employees.
  • Ensure brand consistency and alignment with Bethany's visual identity across all materials and platforms.
  • Coordinate and support the planning and execution of events, photoshoots, and video productions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, leaders, and external partners to deliver projects that meet organizational goals and timelines.
  • Track, analyze, and report on communications and marketing performance metrics to support ongoing improvement.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by supporting team members, sharing knowledge, and contributing to organizational initiatives.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety, professionalism, and continuous learning in alignment with Bethany's values and Standards of Conduct.
What You Bring:
Education:
  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in a relevant field such as communications, public relations, marketing, or journalism or related experience.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in communications and marketing.
  • Experience in the non-profit sector and/or a healthcare environment is an asset.
  • Event planning, photography, and graphic design experience are considered an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license (occasional travel to various sites is required).
  Additional Skills:
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills for a variety of platforms.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing and communications, all social media platforms and website content management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic Adobe Creative Cloud tools (e.g., InDesign, Photoshop), and/or Canva.
