Position Overview
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the
Scheduling Coordinator
will be responsible for maintaining the overall master production schedule through close coordination with the production team. Duties include updating the project management and field team on advanced scheduling and future deliveries, identifying potential risks and gaps in the schedule, and coordinating with 3rd party vendors on scheduling status and material arrivals through the purchasing team. This critical role requires advanced planning skills, exceptional analytical capabilities, and strong communication expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain master production/project schedules using Excel.
- Analyze current scheduling processes and implement continuous improvement strategies.
- Coordinate scheduling activities across multiple departments, including operations, procurement, engineering, and production.
- Monitor project/production progress and proactively identify and resolve potential scheduling conflicts.
- Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly scheduling reports for senior management.
- Manage critical path methodologies to optimize workflow and minimize delays.
- Collaborate with project managers and department heads to align scheduling strategies with organizational goals.
- Conduct regular meetings to review and adjust scheduling priorities.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to scheduling efficiency.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in operations management, supply chain, engineering or related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or operations management.
- Strong analytical and mathematical abilities.
- Proficiency with Excel, production scheduling software and ERP systems.
- Understanding of manufacturing and construction processes is an asset.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Problem-solving ability and adaptability to changing circumstances.
- Communication skills for coordinating across departments.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Location, Hours of Work & Working Conditions
- Location
: Vaughan or St. Catharines - Hours of Work
: Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 5:00pm, Friday 8:00am to 3:00pm - Primarily an office work environment
