Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting Officer for a long-term contract to provide coverage during a maternity leave.

Joining a supportive and collaborative finance team based in Halifax, this role is fully remote and ideal for someone who is adaptable, detail-oriented, and confident working independently while staying connected with a team.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

Process accounts payablePrepare and complete general ledger reconciliationsPerform regular bank reconciliationsAssist with month-end and year-end closing activitiesMonitor transactions for accuracy and ensure proper codingSupport the preparation of financial reports as neededMaintain organized financial records and documentation

Experience & Attributes for Success:

Post-secondary education in accounting, business, or other related program is strongly preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered3–5 years of relevant, hands-on accounting experienceExperience using Globe software (or similar accounting platforms) is an assetStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a teamProactive and resourceful with a willingness to learnProven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
