Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Accountant for a permanent role with our client - a nation-wide leader in the manufacturing sector. This role is based in Halifax and offers the opportunity for a rewarding career with a prominent national player, as the company has grown into one of Canada's most respected providers in its field.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Prepare general ledger reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records
  • Deliver management reports with clear financial insights and analysis, including KPI reporting
  • Perform variance analysis, data analysis, and ad hoc reporting to support decision-making
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Develop, maintain, and improve reporting tools, dashboards, and processes
  • Collaborate with internal and cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives

Experience & Attributes for Success:

  • CPA designation in progress or recently completed 
  • 2+ years of similar experience
  • Proficiency with software such as Excel and QuickBooks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data
  • Effective communicator, able to collaborate across teams and present insights clearly
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional, dependable, and committed to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards
