Scope of the Position
As a
Legal Administrative Assistant

Key Responsibilities
Legal Administrative Support
- Open, maintain, and close legal files.
- Draft confidential letters, memos, call records, reports, and other legal documents from electronic and handwritten copy.
- Organize and file paper and electronic information.
- Enter and verify data in internal systems.
- Schedule calls and manage correspondence.
- Assist with research, case status reports, and travel arrangements as needed.
General Administrative Support
- Answer incoming calls and emails and assign requests to lawyers or staff as appropriate.
- Perform other administrative and office duties as required.
Requirements
- Completion of a post-secondary degree, preferably in Law or a related field (Public Health, Public Administration, Criminology, Business Administration, etc.).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant administrative experience, including at least 3 years providing legal administrative support to counsel.
- Professional fluency in English (written and oral).
- Advanced proficiency with SharePoint and Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficient in data entry.
- Available to commute or relocate to Ottawa.
Assets
- Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce.
- Experience working with health or legal professionals.
- Professional fluency in French (written and oral).
- Knowledge of legal or medical terminology.
