The Quality Assurance Technician will strive to maintain and improve upon an established Quality program within a facility dedicated to the manufacture of heavy, off-road equipment. The successful candidate is required to develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing production processes, including human work factors, quality control, material flow and production coordination. The Quality Assurance Technician will collaborate with engineering, production, and purchasing teams to resolve quality issues, providing an opportunity to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

Location: 1556 Industrial Road, Cambridge, ON

Dedicated Day Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday - Friday

Job Duties:

Create and implement standardized quality control proceduresCommunicate Quality Control information to all relevant internal departments, outside vendors, and/or contractors to develop preventative solutionsMonitor performance of Quality Control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiencyConduct periodic product and process inspections; conduct physical quality control inspections on welded, machined and fabricated partsProvide instruction on Quality guidelines and ways to eliminate deficiencies; recommend corrective actionsCreate and maintain Quality Assurance control documentation and produce relevant reports: nonconformance, daily production quality, root cause analysis, quality trendsReview and update standard operating procedures or Quality Assurance manualsInspect and calibrate measuring equipmentUse measuring equipment such as Vernier, calipers and micrometers, height and other precision measuring gaugesCoaching and developing others

Skills and Experience:

Design tasks require collaboration with coworkers; effective communication and reasoning skills are essential when working on projects that involve multiple team membersCollaborate and work closely with cross-functional teams including designers/engineers, manufacturing, and quality control to ensure seamless integration of designs into productionMust be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected eventsKnowledge of drawings and specifications with an understanding of geometric tolerances and dimensionsAble to measure complex profiles using a variety of measurement toolsExperience or willing to learn equipment calibration and repairPrevious design or project experience in any of the following an asset: raw materials, machining and fabrication production processes, quality control, and the ability to read fabrication drawings

Qualifications:

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics or a related engineering field is preferredCertified Quality Technician training is an asset or willingness to work towards CQTUnderstanding or strong interest in machine design fundamentals, mechanics, materials science, thermodynamics, and/or fluid dynamics.Computer literacy (ERP Software, Microsoft Excel)
