QC LINE TECHNICIAN

Job Title: Quality Control (QC) Line Technician

Department: Quality Assurance

Reports To: QA Manager, Operations

Job Summary:

The QC Line Technician is responsible for ensuring product quality and food safety standards are consistently met during production. This role involves conducting routine inspections, sampling, and testing on the production line to verify that finished goods and in-process materials comply with established specifications, regulatory standards, and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-process checks on production lines, including weight checks, metal detection, packaging integrity, label verification, and temperature control.
  • Collect and document product and environmental samples as per QC protocols.
  • Record test results and report any deviations or non-conformances to the appropriate personnel immediately.
  • Support production staff by providing on-the-spot feedback on quality-related issues and assisting in root cause analysis.
  • Calibrate and verify the accuracy of testing equipment regularly.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all inspections, test results, and corrective actions taken.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of QC tools, workstations, and sampling areas.
  • Adhere to GMPs, HACCP, and all food safety and quality protocols.
  • Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Report any safety hazards or concerns to the Quality or Safety Team.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or related field is an asset.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a quality assurance or manufacturing role, preferably in a food production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow precise procedures.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with production and QA teams.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, data entry, etc.)
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work in varying environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, etc.)

Work Conditions:

  • Fast-paced production environment
  • May involve lifting to 25 lbs.
  • Shift work, weekend, or holiday coverage may be required

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
