This full-time, Terrace office based role supports the day-to-day practice of safety across Axis Mountain Technical—helping crews work with confidence, reducing risk in high-hazard and remote settings, and contributing to a culture where everyone looks out for one another.
In this role, you'll learn directly from a Senior team member while taking on responsibilities that build your technical skills, field awareness, and confidence. This is a great role for someone who wants to develop a strong foundation in occupational health and safety and be part of a team that values shared learning, accountability, and continuous improvement. You will be reporting directly to the Operations Manager.

- Support toolbox talks and help maintain accurate attendance records.
- Report incidents, near misses, and safety observations in a timely manner.
- Model consistent use of safety tools, reporting systems, and PPE in the field.
- Acting as a point of contact for the field and the office staff for any health and safety incidents / near misses.
Reporting, Records and Learning (25%)
- Maintain accurate training, inspection, and project documentation.
- Contribute observations and trends to quarterly HSE reporting.
- Participate in post-incident reviews, debriefs, and learning sessions.
- Manage subcontractor statistical reporting
Qualification & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related area.
- 0–2 years of experience / knowledge of construction or remote/field work.
- Growing familiarity with BC OHS Regulation and field-level hazard controls.
- Comfortable using MS Office, shared drives, and digital safety tools (training provided).
- Collaborative communicator who thrives in cross-functional, project-driven teams.
- Adaptable, self-directed, and motivated by continuous improvement in a growing company.
Travel Considerations:
- Up to 20% travel required. Site visits mainly in British Columbia and Western Alberta as project needs dictate (Summer-Fall).
- Travel allowances and logistics covered as outlined in company policy.
