The Role:
Apex Customs Brokers provides tailored customs brokerage services in Canada. Our full time Trade Compliance & Client Service position is tailored for those who seek a balance between their technical trade compliance experience, the desire to provide premium client service, and being responsible for end to end processes with a chance to showcase a wider reach of experience.

Responsibilities:
- Understand the value of a customs broker, and able to communicate to clients and new prospects
- Facilitate account set up processes, including providing basic service quotes
- Classify goods according to Customs regulations, determine applicable duties and taxes, and assess regulations that may also be subject by Participating Government Agencies.
- Apply your expertise in documentation review, customs classification, origin, and valuation for various transaction types or inquiries including corrections.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international trade agreements and preferential trade programs.
- Understand all release types, in all modes of transportation
- Problem solve release or trade compliance issues
- Understand CBSA's new CARM initiative, and assist clients with set up, obtain financial security, and payments
- Advocate for our clients by championing continuous improvement initiatives and proactively communicating management to improve service delivery.
- Develop and communicate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Customs compliance manuals to ensure regulatory adherence and efficient internal processes.
- Provide workflow management and leadership support for a team of skilled Customs Specialists.

- Exceptional knowledge in customs release and trade compliance
- Data analysis and accuracy
- Client focused communication skills, both verbal and written
- A team spirit that's as positive and infectious as your enthusiasm for customs complexities.
- A learning mindset, eager to grow and adapt.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as customs brokerage software and MS Office Suite.
Education:
- CCS designation required
- CTCS or CBSA Professional Designation are an asset, or the drive to achieve it with our support.
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field would be great, but it's your skills and experience that truly count.
