Are you highly organized and passionate about supporting workers and strong Union operations?

IUPAT District Council 17 is seeking a Part-Time Office Administrator based in Edmonton to support the Servicing Department and act as a primary point of contact for Union members. This role is essential to ensuring smooth office operations, accurate record-keeping, and responsive member service while supporting the broader work of the Union across Alberta and Western Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for Union members by phone, email, and in person, providing professional and timely support
  • Manage daily office administration, including email and phone management, filing systems, office supplies, and general office coordination
  • Process new member sign-ups, maintain accurate membership records, and update member statuses in internal systems
  • Support member services related to dues, remittances, benefits, training registrations, and job dispatch requests
  • Assist with financial administration tasks such as processing remittances, tracking payments, reconciling expenses, and supporting month-end processes
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare materials, take notes as required, and follow up on action items
  • Provide administrative support to the Servicing, Organizing, and Training Departments as needed, including event coordination and reporting

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous Union, office administration, or construction industry experience is considered an asset
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Professional communication skills and the ability to work respectfully with members, contractors, and staff
  • Comfort using technology, including Microsoft Office and database or membership management systems
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently in a part-time capacity
