Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual as a Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant to join our animal care team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our clients and clinic, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service to our clients, administrative support to our veterinary staff and ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet clients and their pets warmly and ensure a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar efficiently.

-Answer phone calls and emails, addressing client inquiries and routing communications to appropriate team members.

  • Check-in and check-out clients, process payments, and update patient records.
  • Assist veterinarians (DVM's)and technicians (RVT) with various tasks, including animal restraint (able to life 40lbs on own), medication administration, laboratory procedures (willing to learn is a plus).

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area, exam rooms, and other common areas along with preparing areas for surgeries, assisting with treatment plans.

  • Provide information on services, pricing, and basic pet care to clients.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a veterinary clinic setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and procedures is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software, including veterinary practice management software (e.g., Avimark, Daysmart).

-Passion for working with animals and providing compassionate care.

- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

-Diploma from a Veterinary Assistant Program or a combination of experience as a Veterinary Receptionist.
