Position Summary:

The position of the Covenant Living Manager will commit to incorporate our mission, vision, and our values, which are Compassion, Respect, Collaboration, Social Justice, Integrity and Stewardship, and uphold our ethical traditions as foundational aspects in all actions and decision-making.

With the functional support, guidance and supervision provided by the Program Manager, Network of Excellence in Senior's Health and Wellness (NESHW), the Covenant Living Manager carries out services as outlined by the Covenant Living Policies and Procedures in all Alberta locations.

The Manager is responsible for the operational leadership of the Covenant Living Model. The position oversees the Covenant interdisciplinary support team and collaborates with project partners to coordinate daily operational activity in accordance with the project mandate. This includes monitoring function and performance, ensuring appropriate staffing levels, adherence to quality, policy, and practice standards, compliance with budgetary guidelines, and providing day-to-day supervision of staff.

In addition to operational leadership, the Manager will play an active role in project planning, implementation, and evaluation, establishing workflows, and developing orientation and training materials. The position requires strong change management skills and the ability to work with a wide range of professionals and organizations. This position works closely with the Senior Leadership Team, other operational and corporate leaders across the organization, external stakeholders, and community partners in the seniors' serving space. The Manager will supervise the Project Manager and Support Coordinators and will perform all duties in accordance with Covenant's Mission, Vision and Values.

This position will:

  • Model the organizations mission, vision, and values, consistently representing Covenant professionally and positively.
  • Collaborate effectively as a professional team plater, supporting the achievement of Covenant's Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Engage and mobilize teams to fulfill Covenant's Mission, Vision, Values, and strategic objectives.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Current registration with professional licensing body
  • Experience leading clinical and/or health care system projects through all phases of project management
  • Experience in seniors' health and/or home and community care
  • A high degree of independence in decision making and creativity is required
  • A clear vision of the health system and continuum of care
  • Intuitively understands the need to create win/win situations and is committed to presenting a professional, positive demeanour in all interactions
  • Must be flexible and able to determine and manage multiple competing priorities due to a wide variety of responsibilities
  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal)
  • Demonstrated ability to promote teamwork, collaboration and partnership
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office
  • Effective change management skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly and apply new learning's
  • Ability to maintain a professional level of diplomacy, confidentiality and tact in all activities
  • Ability to function and thrive in a dynamic fast paced environment with a high level of complexity and pressure

Preferred Requirements

  • Master's in health services administration, business, or other equivalent preparation preferred
  • Certification as a Project Manager, or PMI
  • Certification in Change Management, or PROSCI
