What makes this role important at Ipsos?
In this role, you will be responsible for managing Food & Beverage clients (CPG, Foodservice, Retailers, etc.) from two of the largest syndicated consumption tracking studies in Canada. As a Senior Research Manager, you will work with these clients to understand their business issues and execute custom research projects to meet their needs. You will manage multiple clients and their projects from start to finish, including designing analytical plans with senior team members, extracting data through different software, analyzing said data to generate insights, developing recommendations, and creating compelling stories and presentations that help illuminate the human behaviors behind the data. The Senior Account Manager will report to the Vice President and join a team of curious-minded researchers and client partners.
Please note: this role is a 12 month contracted position.
What You Can Expect To Be Doing
- Understand and address business needs/issues of respective clients.
- Manage multiple survey-based market research projects at once, within timeline, including working closely with colleagues in other service lines to oversee all components of projects, and coaching junior staff to develop their project management and research skills.
- Design plan analyses.
- Analyze data and draw conclusions; prepare reports and presentations; make recommendations based on the insights that address the client's business needs.
- Assist in proposal development with senior colleagues as needed.
- Maintain and strengthen client relationships through exceptional service and consultation.
- May act as manager to one or more Account Managers/Research Analysts. Includes overseeing training schedule, day-to-day guidance and supervision, and providing feedback (both ongoing and during annual review and goal setting).
This might be the job for you if you have:
- 5+ years relevant experience (supplier side market research preferred).
- Experience working with Food & Beverage and/or Foodservice is an asset
- Requires strong quantitative, research, analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to turn data into insights through analysis and storytelling.
- Ability to oversee and direct multiple projects.
- Must be self-motivated and entrepreneurial (i.e., ability to think independently).
- Intellectually curious with a desire to better understand the "why" behind the data.
- Works well in a team environment with senior and junior colleagues.
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to review the work of others for grammar, formatting, and voice.
- Bachelor's Degree required – market research, marketing, and/or business coursework/programs are an asset.

The Market Strategy & Understanding (MSU) Service Line performs strategic research to deliver contextual understanding to help clients navigate dynamic markets. Our offer portfolio consists of strategic brand research as well as category & consumer fundamentals. We work with clients to understand the size and composition of a market as well as the segments/profiles/demand spaces therein. We also specialize in brand equity, brand assets, brand stretch and open category opportunities (e.g. whitespace).
